NM Brujos topple visiting Scottsdale Blues 39-17, face ABQ Varks next. Spring practice continues.
On a sunny and clear but cool winter day the New Mexico Brujos kicked off their 2022 Rio Grande rugby Union spring season (for real this time) in fine fashion last Saturday, using an explosive second half to outpace the the visiting Scottsdale Blues for a 39 - 17 victory. The Brujos got on the board first and after two red cards for the visiting Blues in the first half led at halftime 17-10. Scottsdale briefly tied the match at 17 all to start the first half before the Brujos scored three straight trys to pull away for good. The NM Brujos would like to express their gratitude to the Scottsdale Blues for making the trip and for a spirited match. The win and score differential get the NM Brujos off to a good start for the season and put them on sure footing for their match against their crosstown rivals the ABQ Aardvarks in two weeks.
Next up for the NM Brujos:
The New Mexico Brujos face the ABQ Aardvarks on Saturday, February 26th. Time and location TBA.

Spring Practice Continues!
As mentioned above, the NM Brujos will kick off their season this Saturday, February 12th against Scottsdale. This means it's more important than ever to get to practice! NM Brujos practice is every Tuesday and Thursday at 6 PM at Johnson Field.
New Players are always welcome!
All practices will follow strict covid safe and social distancing guidelines, and individuals can opt out of any drill or exercise as they see fit. Please bring cleats, water and a mask, and please fill out the health check form on the webpage: https://www.brujosrugby.com/brujos-player-health-check before every practice! This is important as the safer and more transparent we are as a team, the sooner we get to things going back to normal or something resembling normal. We are all in this together, so let's return to rugby safe and smart.
