NM Brujos to Host Park Clean Up Before the Big Game, AYRU Announces Shutdown Skills Challenge!

As mentioned last week the New Mexico Brujos have adopted their very own slice of Albuquerque, Bullhead Park! As part of being good stewards of their newly adopted park, the NM Brujos are hosting their very first park clean up this Sunday before the "big game". Many longtime team members and fans of the Brujos know that every year the Brujos normally host the fatboy run the day of the superbowl. Sadly do to the continued Covid outbreak and state and city laws, this years run didn't appear feasible or responsible. In lieu of that time honored tradition, the Brujos will be conducting their first clean up of Bullhead. Due to state and city restrictions, volunteers can only amass in groups of five or less. For this reason the Brujos will be staggering volunteer times throughout the day. All volunteers will be required to sign a waiver. If you wish to participate please email president@brujosrugby.com, and we will set you or your group up with a time to meet.

AYRU Shutdown Skills Challenge

Our friends at Albuquerque Youth Rugby have come up with a fun way to sharpen rugby skills and raise some funds for youth programming until everyone can return to th pitch!

Every Saturday from February 13 to March 6, AYRU will post a video showcasing a skill for the week (different for each age group). Participants will submit a video performing the skill by the following Thursday to ABQrugby@gmail.com or by sharing on social media (Facebook or Instagram) and tagging AYRU. All skills are individual and only require a ball.

Small prizes will be awarded weekly at random to someone in each age group, and a large prize drawing will take place on March 13. Full rules are in the registration form below.

Everyone over age 5 welcome to participate, and it's free for anyone under 18. For anyone over 18, we ask that you consider a $10 donation to AYRU. Without the 2020 and 2021 season, AYRU has not had a consistent revenue source to work with.

Please share with your teams and commit to showing off your skills for the next few weeks!
