Summer is winding down, Labor day weekend is upon us, and that can only mean one thing, Fall rugby season is here at last. First up for the New Mexico Brujos is the this weekend's Santa Fe Fiesta 10s tournament. This Sunday, September 5th make the short drive to scenic Santa Fe, and support your NM Brujos as they compete with 12 other local and regional teams in this annual 10s tournament. This year's Fiesta 10's tourney is also slated to have 5 women's teams competing, as well as food, prizes and a social afterward at the Santa Fe brewing company. Kick off is at 9 AM. Que viva!

2021 AGM Results
Last Saturday, August 28th the New Mexico Brujos met for the 2021 installment of their Annual General Meeting. Some takeaways from last Saturday's meeting include: Rick "Idaho" Potter was selected to succeed Travis "Space Force" Smith as team secretary. The team would like to thank Travis for his years of service as both a board member and all around kick ass Brujos and wish him success in his new posting. Team vice_president Elliot Salgado was elected director of rugby, Dustin Soflin was selected as team captain with Eric Smolensky as vice team captain. Members at large are Dustin and Andrew "snowball" Esquibel. Among the more important team positions chosen last Saturday were the elections of team cheerleaders and sideline spirit coordinators for the New Mexico Brujos this season. Those positions went to Marianela and Andolina Salgado and Makenzie Potter. Congratulations and thanks to everyone for stepping up to help your rugby team this season!

NM Brujos Golf Tournament and Kangaroo Court Friday September 17th.
Fore! As part of the New Mexico Brujos 40th Anniversary Celebration this September please join the Brujos on Friday September 17th for the Brujos Golf tournament at beautiful Los Altos Golf Course. The tournament is is best ball with shotgun starts beginning at 8:15. There will be prizes for longest drive, worst shot, closest to pin as well as gift bags and other assorted shenanigans. $125 per player or $500 per team.

Wizardfest, "Old Boys" match and Brujos vs Aardvarks
As part of the New Mexico Brujos 40th anniversary celebration this September please join the Brujos on September 18th for 3 very special events. The day kicks off at noon at Phil Chacon field with an Old Boys only match. The match will quarterly play and rolling subs. Following the old boys match watch the current NM Brujos take on the their inter-city rivals the Albuquerque Aardvarks in a Rio Grande Rugby Union match. Later that evening join the NM Brujos as they celebrate their 40th anniversary as a club for a very special Wizardfest at 6PM at Salt Yard, 6001 Osuna Rd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109. This years very special Wizardfest will feature lifetime achievement awards and the inaugural New Mexico Brujos hall of fame class. Tickets for Wizardfest are $65
Fall Practice Begins!
With the Brujos fall season that includes Santa Fe 10s, the aforementioned 40th anniversary match against the Aardvarks and more, rapidly approaching, it's more important than ever to get out to practice every Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30 to 7 at Phil Chacon field south. For those unfamiliar with Phil Chacon south field the best way to get their is to turn east on Kathryn off of Louisiana and then park in the south parking lot. The field is south of the parking lot. All practices will follow strict covid safe and social distancing guidelines, and individuals can opt out of any drill or exercise as they see fit. Please bring cleats, water and a mask, and please fill out the health check form on the website before every practice!
