There are only two regular season games left in the 2023 Spring Rio Grande Rugby Union season, and that means it's time to start preparing for the 2023 Rio Grande Celtic 7s Rugby Tournament! Registration is now open for the 2032 Rio Grande Celtic 7s Rugby Tournament, scheduled for Saturday, May 6th, 2023 at scenic Balloon Fiesta Park! Men's teams will be $400, Women's teams $300 and High School teams $200. In addition individual registration is also available and is still only $40! Just a reminder that all registrations include free entry to the 2023 Rio Grande Celtic Festival, featuring Highland games, food (cross your fingers for the return of meatpies dammit!) , and a beer garden or two. Atomic Sister's this Saturday and UNM Women's Howler 7's tournament Sunday!
The New Mexico Brujos have the week off before their last in-state game of the regular season against the Varks next Saturday the 25th, but their is plenty of must watch rugby around the city this weekend! First up this Saturday the 18th, our good friends the Atomic Sister's host the Tucson Old Pueblo Lightning at Vista Del Norte Park at 3 PM. As usual youth and high school rugby on the same field starting at 8am. Don't miss a great day of rugby! For more info check out their Facebook event page! Go Sisters!
Then on Sunday, March 19th, join the UNM Women's team for their home tournament the Howler 7s! Teams participating include Utah Valley State, the NMSU Aggies, Utah State, Air Force and the University of Colorado. Kickoff is at Johnson Field at 10 AM! This will be a tournament you won't want to miss!
Saturday and Sunday are rugby days!
Brujos Spring Rugby practice continues!
Only two games left in the 2023 Spring Rio Grande Rugby Union season and that means it's more important than ever to get out to NM Brujos Spring practice!
NM Brujos practice is every Tuesday and Thursday starting at 6 PM at UNM's Johnson Field located at 2401 Redondo Dr NE, Albuquerque, NM 87106 East of Johnson Gym.
New Players are always welcome! Cleats, mouthguard, and water very much recommended.
