Brujos Announce 40th Anniversary Celebration and More February Brujos News.
On the heels of last week's announcement of the return of the New Mexico Brujos late spring 7's tournament (more on that below), the Brujos are very pleased to announce plans for their upcoming 40th anniversary celebration in late September 2020. Festivities will include a golf tournament, a union wide old boys match, and a special edition of Wizardfest with lifetime achievement awards and inductions into the inaugural New Mexico Brujos Hall of Fame! Stay tuned to the NM Brujos Facebook page for more details as they emerge. This promises to be a very special celebration of the Brujos past and present. Combined with this May's Sandia 7s Tournament and a still unannounced (stay tuned) October tournament, and 2020 is shaping up to be a busy year that the New Mexico Brujos and their fans won't forget!
Sandia 7s Rugby Tournament Coming in May
The New Mexico Brujos are very excited to announce the first annual Sandia 7s Rugby Tournament. Premiering May 30th, 2020 in the shadow of the glorious Sandia Mountains, this men's and women's tournament hopes to capitalize on the 20 years of success that the old Celtic 7s tournament provided. This tournament will provide an excellent warm up opportunity for men's and women's teams going into the summer 7's tournament season. We look forward to announcing more details in the coming weeks and months. Save the date, we'll see you on the pitch in May!
Spring Practice Has Begun!
The 2020 Spring season begins in March, and that means it's finally practice time! Practice is every Tuesday and Thursday at 6 PM at UNM's Johnson Field throughout the spring season. Practice starts at 6 PM, that means cleats on and ready to go at 6 PM! Everyone is welcome, all levels of rugby experience!
No matter if this will be your first look at rugby or your 50th season, we want you coming out to practice with the New Mexico Brujos RFC, and, as always bring a friend along!
All you need is some athletic wear and soccer style cleats.

The Brujos 2020 Rio Grande Rugby Union season is less than a month away! The Brujos kick off their 2020 Rio Grande Rugby Union schedule with a home match on March 7th against the visiting El Paso Scorpions. Then they play an "away" match against crosstown rivals the Albuquerque Aardvarks on March 14th. Their next two matches are home matches against the Santos and Varks respectively, before finishing out the season with a trip down to El Paso to take on the Scorps.
