Brujos drop Rugby Union season opener, Spring 2020 schedule announced and other November Brujos news

Santa Fe, Saturday November 2nd -

Just a week removed from taking home the hardware at the 2019 High Desert Classic, the New Mexico Brujos traveled up to Santa Fe to take on the Santos in the opener of the 2019/2020 Rio Grande Rugby Union season. The Brujos quickly lost two players to injury and played 60 minutes of the match with only 13 men, ultimately losing to the Santos 50 - 29. The match was the last for the Brujos in 2019, and they now turn their attention to the spring season which is tentatively scheduled to begin on March 7th.

Spring 2020 Schedule announced.

The Brujos kick off their 2020 Rio Grande Rugby Union schedule with a home match on March 7th against the visiting El Paso Scorpions. Then they play an "away" match against crosstown rivals the Albuquerque Aardvarks on March 14th. Their next two matches are home matches against the Santos and Varks respectively, before finishing out the season with a trip down to El Paso to take on the Scorps. After finishing last season in second place the Brujos will have their work cut out for them to repeat that success after their loss to Santa Fe last weekend. This intrepid rugby blogger for one believes in blue magic. See you in the spring!
