New Mexico Brujos win 2019 High Desert Classic, set sights on Rio Grande Rugby Union season.

This year it was points, not pints, that made the difference. A year after seeing the High Desert trophy slip from their grasp because of a (close) loss in a tournament deciding boat race, the NM Brujos let their points do the talking and took home the hardware because of their talents on the pitch. The Brujos opened the tournament strong enough with a convincing win over the Borderlands Rugby team from down south. The next match saw the Brujos and crosstown rival and tournament host the Albuquerque Aardvarks play to a draw. However the Brujos won their third match against a well traveled Indigenous Warriors by enough to take home the tournament title (and a very handsome cow skull trophy), outright. We'll drink to that!

Other High Desert tournament results include the NMHU Vatos taking home the college title and the Atomic Sisters winning the women's match.
