NM Brujos Marathon a Day Challenge and S.A.F.E House Fundraiser week 3 recap: Brujos log over 800 mi

With less than a week to go in the New Mexico Brujos Marathon a Day Challenge and S.A.F.E House fundraiser, the NM Brujos put their best feet forward in week three. In three weeks the Brujos, as a team, have racked up 845.79 miles, never once missing their satted goal of running a marathon a day, and have raised $1703 for S.A.F.E House. That's within sight of the stated goal of $2500, but the Brujos need your help to raise that final $800 So keep running everybody! And if you haven't donated, please do, and if you know someone who might want to support the worthy cause of assisting those affected by domestic violence, please get them to donate as well!

Also consider sponsoring your favorite Brujo for a day by pledging to donate $1 for every mile run, or, as our Atomic Sister Sammie Jo Hammon did last week, sponsor the entire team for a day. Sammie's efforts raised over $50 that day for S.A.F.E House, thanks Sammie!

Remember, every little bit helps!

The idea is simple, as a team the Brujos, their family, and even their supporters goal is to run a marathon (that's 26.22 miles for all you non-long distance runners out there.) everyday. You can show your support for this effort by making a donation to SAFE House. As you may know, the Covid-19 epidemic has led to an increase in domestic violence, your contribution to SAFE House will make an impact, whether you donate $5 or $500, every little bit helps.

100% of the money raised will go directly to SAFE House. Everyday we will be documenting and sharing our runs on our Facebook page in our quest to run a marathon a day. So let's lace up those running shoes, fire up those run trackers, and get running! Thank you for your support!

You can learn more and donate by visiting the New Mexico Brujos Facebook Fundraiser page. Information about SAFE House is included below. Updated Sandia 7's Tournament information:

Because USA Rugby sanctioned events are officially postponed/cancelled through the end of May, this year's Sandia 7's tournament, originally scheduled for May 30th, 2020, is officially postponed until further notice. We are currently exploring our options to possibly hold this tournament at a later date in 2020, depending on availability of tournament locations and participating teams, and obviously entirely dependent on the hopeful containment of the current coronavirus health emergency. So for now we will not being opening registration just yet, and instead keeping our fingers crossed for a positive resolution to the current crisis and doing our part to flatten the curve and beat this thing! Stay positive, stay in shape (safely) and stay hopeful that we'll all see each other on the pitch for this exciting tournament sometime in 2020.
